Launched by GM Fundraising just last month, the glazing industry’s national five aside football competition, GM Football Fives is already enjoying fast take up. Being held on Saturday 9th May 2015, the tournament will see the glazing industry exercise its own special brand of friendly rivalry as teams compete to win one of the hotly coveted trophies, including ‘Player of the Tournament’, ‘Beat the Goalie’ and ‘Golden Boot,’ whilst also raising funds for Hope House Children’s Hospices.
Companies already signed up include: Quickslide Ltd, Profix, MB Frames, GQA Qualifications, Glazerite Windows Ltd, Emplas, KAT UK, Mila Hardware, Haffner, Grouphomesafe, Safeguard Glazing Supplies and FrameXpress. So if you can bend it like Beckham, Pass like Pirlo or score like Shearer (or indeed, if you can’t) and would like to join them, make sure you get your team registered.
Adrian Barraclough, Quickslide’s Chairman and GM Fundraising team member explains: “The GM Football Fives has been created as a step away from the usual corporate day, providing an excellent opportunity for companies to put a team together with people from any area of the business. Fitters will play alongside Chief Executives in a national competition that’s all about the UK’s national sport. Teams are even welcome to ask customers and suppliers to join in the fun.
“Those who feel more comfortable in the stands than on the pitch can also get involved and we will be announcing some exciting sponsorship opportunities very soon, so watch this space. As with all GM Fundraising events, the most important thing is to raise money for a fantastic cause by doing something that people will enjoy. We believe the GM Football Fives will become a date not to be missed in people’s diaries every year, as everything is set for a truly fantastic day.”
Taking part is simple. Teams consist of 8 players, with a guaranteed 3 matches for just £800 per team. Registration includes entry to the Awards Party Evening hosted at St Andrews. Additional tickets for the fun once the final whistle has gone can be purchased for £25 per adult, £10 per child aged 10 to 16 with children under 10 welcome for no charge.
