Nearly there…

Nearly there…

The team are safely housed at the final hotel at Pasadena ready for the relatively short 35 mile ride down to Santa Monica tomorrow.

It almost feels like the end of the ride, as tomorrow is mostly downhill with congestion and traffic lights being the the biggest hurdle.

Over the last three days, the riders have experienced some of the most beautiful scenery the US has to offer. Cycling through Arizona and into California the team have passed through mountain ranges and desert, with stifling heat and torrential downpours. It really has been a test of endurance with some of the riders close to breaking point each day. So far the riders have cycled for 13 days and have covered close to 2,600 miles, so being in spitting distance of Santa Monica is a relief.

Waiting at Santa Monica pier will be some of the riders’ family, including Gary’s daughters who he’s not seen for over six months. There’s likely to be a tear or two shed after this epic bike ride.

Thanks to all those who have sponsored the team. There’s still time to make a donation at: http://www.justgiving.com/teams/hope66

Thanks!
